Type: Casual vegan cafe & store with gluten-free and raw dishes
Go For: Breakfast through to dinner
We went to Go Vegan Café on our way out of Las Vegas and back onto Route 66. It is a lovely plant-based café with a charming indoor patio, small store and salad bar. The store items are a tad overpriced, but their freshly made goods are worth a it for road-trip snacks. The staff were all super friendly and passionate about the café’s natural, plant-based concept.
The menu is full of honest vegan food. Their dishes are well thought out and simple. We had one of their freshly squeezed Veggie Juices and their Choco-Cinn Iced Coffee Blend which contains organic, fair trade, cold-pressed coffee blended with cashew milk, cacao powder and cinnamon. The Iced Coffee Blend was a first for us, it was almost like a frappe and very refreshing. To eat, we had the Waffles of course! You choose your own toppings to suit your taste, and ours were sweet and filling. The waffles are made with coconut flour and well sized. We also had the mix and match Raw Tostadas. We had the savoury Olé (which has seed ‘cheese’, beans, guacamole, salsa, ‘sour dream’, & hemp seeds) and the sweet “PBJ” (which has almond butter and strawberry jelly topped with sesame seeds). The dishes were light, simple and satisfying. We really appreciated their fun use of plant-based ingredients and tasty flavour combinations.
